Here at N. Y. Metro Chimney, we will cater to all your chimney needs, whether you are rebuilding or repairing your chimney. Your chimney is our first priority to make you and your family safe.
Whether it is oil or gas, the 5 burroughs Fire Marshall recommends that your heating flue be cleaned and or inspected every two years.

Well the answer to that is for your own safety. Creosote a tar like substance builds up inside your chimney. This substance is flammable, which causes carbon monoxide(a colorless odorless gas) that can be deadly. Also as we've said Creosote is flammable and removing it will reduce the risk of fires and puff backs.

One man goes on the roof with extension poles and a wire brush and thoroughly scours the chimney walls from top to bottom. While another removes debris from the bottom of the chimney and boiler connections with a high powered soot vacuum. This procedure allows us to service your chimney with NO MESS!

The NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standard 211 requires that cracked, broken, or missing chimney liners MUST be replaced. Liner tiles can crack and mortar between the tiles can deteriorate, and allow flue gasses, which contains carbon monoxide, to leak into the house.

Cracks in your chimney liner can also cause dangerous heat transfer to combustible materials on or around your chimney.

Both situations can compromise the health and safety of your home and family.

We understand and appreciate the desires of the do-it-yourself er. However when installing a chimney lining system, we strongly advise that you have it done by a professional so you can be sure the job is done right. There are too many things that if not done correctly could cause your chimney to violate the NFPA standard 211 code and prove a safety hazard for your home. Also, there are lots of things that could go wrong in the installation process that may threaten the integrity of your chimney if not handled properly.

Installing a liner requires the experience of a trained and tested professional to get the job done right.
